This is Part III of a 3-part Neurosculpting® Institute Video Blog documenting the transformational journey of one woman’s choice and courage to use Neurosculpting® brain training to enrich her life and look beyond her limitations to know grace in the human condition. Part I and II of this amazing journey can be found here:

Brain Training New Pathways: Waking Up the Paralyzed Body Part I

Brain Training New Pathways: Waking Up the Paralyzed Body Part II

Heather Griego’s courageous journey continues as she uses the skills she has acquired through Neurosculpting® brain training with Lisa Wimberger, Founder of the Neurosculpting Institute, to awaken her paralyzed body in this 7 minute video. Witness the excitement, and even a little shock, as Heather maps new pathways from her brain to her body, with Lisa’s guidance, allowing the newly gained volitional movement of her thumb and forefinger to create the dexterity needed to open and close a water bottle as well as braid her assistant’s hair.

Heather’s hard work and determination in following the simple principles and practices of Neurosculpting® brain training meditations has led to her ability, after only a handful of sessions with Lisa, to perform simple tasks we often take for granted, like holding a cell phone and picking up small objects. Heather’s proud smile seen in this video says it all. She has empowered her ability to rewrite her story of limitation to enrich her life and evolve into a sense of wholeness by creating a new language between her mind and body.

Want to learn more about Neurosculpting® brain training?

In simple terms, Neurosculpting® is a 5-step meditation process, created in 2007, that can strategically help an individual release the grip of old patterns and entrain their brain to create new and more supportive patterns, habits and behaviors. Neurosculpting® brain training teaches practitioners how to engage and self-direct their brain to support stress management and emotional down regulation. This empowers the brain’s ability to transform. Lisa Wimberger developed this tool to save her own life and heal from chronic seizures after a lightning strike at age 15. These very same practices supported her emotional stability as a single mother on food stamps after a divorce.

You may be asking, “What’s the trick?” It’s simple, yet it takes intention. Neurosculpting® down-regulates the hyper-arousal stress states of the brain while simultaneously up-regulating the higher executive functioning parts of the brain. According to neuroscience, this specific dynamic is a state of optimized and stress-free learning; literally optimizing and training your brain to create new neural pathways of health and well-being.

Here are the 5 steps:

Step 1: Down-regulate flight/fight/freeze response to calm the nervous system
Step 2: Enhance activity in the higher executive functioning of the brain
Step 3: Increase activity and communication between the right and left hemispheres of the brain
Step 4: Imprint the meditation for easy identification and replication in day-to-day activities
Step 5: Choose a name for your meditation
